Dublin based company is currently seeking a Senior Cloud Services Infrastructure Engineer for a contract job opportunity, scheduled to begin immediately. You will be given the opportunity to work on a wide gambit of projects from virtualisation, networks and enterprise storage solutions. This is a great opportunity to work with a large support and design team.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- The infrastructure deployment, capacity management, configuration management, and daily administration for the client's cloud infrastructure;
- Serving as a third tier escalation for incidents or problems that occur related to the network infrastructure, storage sub-system, or the utility-computing platform;
- Engineering and maintaining cloud infrastructure including: physical server and storage array configuration, logical storage volumes and storage networks;
- Engaging with application and system resources to plan for configuration, performance, and capacity requirements;
- Working with project management resources related to the implementation and sustained configuration management of the environment;;
- Deploying and managing associated application platforms used in the management for the cloud infrastructure;
- Adherence to policies, processes, and procedures within areas of responsibility;
- Assistance with execution of projects related to areas of responsibility;
- Hands on management of network, server, storage, and operating systems;
- Installation and configuration of infrastructure as new capacity is deployed;
- Auditing and remediation of discrepancies from standards;
- Recommending and implementing monitoring test sets to ensure availability;
- Responding to incidents and service requests; and,
- Analyzing data and develop meaningful reports used by technical and business leaders.
Skills and Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have:
- Three plus (3+) years of experience with VMWare products such as vSphere, vCloud Director, vCenter, and vShield;
- Two plus (2+) years experience managing enterprise class storage arrays;
- Three plus (3+) years experience working with x86 server platforms;
- Experience troubleshooting incidents and problems associated to ESX environments and related applications;
- The ability to mine performance and capacity data from various sources and formulate valuable analysis;
- The ability to efficiently prioritize and organize competing work demands;
VMWare Certified Professional (VCP);
- The ability to understand application level performance characteristics, capacity requirements, and have the proficiency to identify actionable activates to maintain an acceptable service level for the associated environments and applications;
