Main duties of this position

Development of FPGA and digital items in accordance with company processes and procedures and good engineering practice
Development and implementation of FPGA systems using VHDL
Development and implementation of complex DSP algorithms in VHDL
Execution of assigned work packages of significant technical complexity in a timely manner and with consideration to wider issues, typically:
Analysis of specific key technical issues and their resolution
System analysis, simulation, modelling and synthesis
Definition of technically advanced and optimised solutions
Translate customer requirements into top level design architectures and requirements
Project implementation as required
Provide ad-hoc technical consultancy services to projects as required eg design reviews, troubleshooting etc
Meeting customers, discussing requirements and proposing solutions, and preparing/contributing to proposals and bid materials

Desirable

Experience in relevant computer aided technical analysis tools, eg Matlab
Considered an expert in the field of FPGA development.
Expert in VHDL.
Expert in verification, self-checking testbenches, BFMs, etc.
Expert in the use of FPGA development tools such as Modelsim, Synplify, Xilinx ISE, Quartus II
Broad understanding/appreciation of all engineering disciplines; Software, Digital and Analogue Electronics, mechanical design, DFx, RF theory and DSP theory to a knowledge that permits technical discussion with other experts
