Location: Derby

Contract: Initially 6 months

Salary: up to £40.00 per hour

The Company:
A leading aerospace client, dealing in the design, development and manufacture of electronic control systems for aero gas turbine engines.

The Role:
Our client is looking to recruit a Systems Engineer to join their busy systems team. The systems engineer will be responsible for analysing customer requirements and translating them into valid functional requirements for controls systems. As part of the role the systems engineer will designing sub systems, including modelling and simulation, for engine control systems to meet functional requirements and design constraints. The systems engineer will also be involved in requirements and change management aspects of the aerospace projects as required. As a key member of the systems team, the systems engineer will liaise closely with other departments such as electronics and software to ensure that the system operates effectively.

The Candidate:
An experienced systems engineer you should have experience of designing sub systems for safety critical applications. Recent experience of using languages such as UML, SySML and Ada would be preferred but candidates with extensive systems design experience using similar programming languages will also be considered. As you will be working on aerospace projects, knowledge of aerospace standards such as DO-178B would be preferred but is not essential.

Candidates must be eligible for UK Security clearance.

Technical: Systems Engineer, UML, ADA, Spark, MATlab and Simulink.

Commutable: Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Loughborough, Mansfield, and Burton Upon Trent.
