This organisation are based in Central Canberra and have FREE onsite parking.

Responsibilities:-

Undertake key tasks in relation to the planning, configuration and management of the large-scale hybrid-technology platforms, including systems and software, filesystems, network operations, performance and reliability management, accounting and reporting functions.

The work includes:

  • Coding and managing utilities for configuring, installing and managing hybrid technology systems;
  • Documentation for user guides and training; accounting and reporting functions;
  • The management of specialised services;
  • Monitor and resolve system issues particularly related to scalable performance problems impacting user applications;
  • Develop complex fault management, monitoring and tracking both for internal use and liaising with vendors.
  • Provide high level assistance to the Manager, Cloud and Online Services to carry out the work plan required for the uptake of cloud services, and to improve the capability of the research infrastructure.

Liaise with and assist other staff, with respect to

  • The integration of cloud technologies and the provision of seamless services within the NCI environment, including cloud and online services and HPC systems, and
  • More broadly within this government department with respect to networks, security, and data centre management.

Previous experience with Cloud OpenStack is ideal however, we are willing to consider candidates with exposure or have an ability to demonstrate an interest and have done your own research into this technology.

AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP A REQUIREMENT OF THIS ROLE.

Canberra is first preference however, Melbourne or Sydney are possible locations for this role as well as remote work.
