This is an exciting Finance Director opportunity which offers the opportunity to be the financial leader for one of Experian's key UK&I business units. Reporting directly to the Regional CFO and with a dotted line relationship to the Divisional Managing Director, you will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the business.

Offered as a 12 month fixed-term contract, this fantastic opportunity will offer a diverse set of challenges, decision-making opportunities and senior management exposure.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide financial leadership and support to the business, ensuring the business delivers on financial commitments and forecasts, being a key advisor to the MD and DA leadership team providing insight into financial and operational assumptions, and delivering business partner activities that enables operational execution to foster the business' growth aspirations.

The Decision Analytics business represents revenues of c. £100m which cover 3 Business Units spread across multiple types of products and multiple vertical markets.

The post holder will be a key member of the UK&I Finance Leadership Team and play a significant part in the development and continual improvement of the finance offering across the organisation. Additionally, this role has 2 direct reports and overall responsibility for a wider team of 13.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Direction:
• Set the strategic direction for all budgeting, financial analysis and reporting within the business unit.
• Direct financial activities to ensure financial transactions, policies and procedures meet corporate short and long term objectives.
• Provide financial leadership to the business line through strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and regional coordination.
• Act as strategic business partner and advisor to the MD providing financial leadership on business management, operations, acquisitions and alliances initiatives.
• Lead interpretation of complex financial information and investment assessment process to support investment decisions and to determine the best allocation of capital to drive value creation in line with group's growth aspirations.
• Lead the interpretation of emerging issues in the business and financial markets and recommend appropriate courses of action for DA in the UK&I.
Finance team leadership:
• Lead the UK&I DA finance function with responsibilities including planning, budgeting, forecasting, operational reporting, general fiduciary responsibilities for accounting operations, internal control structure, facilities and contract management.
• Ensure that the division has a highly capable finance organization in place through the ongoing attraction, training and development of skilled financial professionals.
Financial Practices:
• Manage the operating planning cycles (short term forecasts, mid-year forecast, annual budget), including presentation development, operational reviews and process improvement.
• Work in a "matrix" fashion with the other regional Decision Analytics FD's to share best practice and drive ongoing alignment, consistency and improvement
• Continual development thorough the identification and action of own personal development plan.

Job requirements & qualifications

• Degree calibre (2.1 or above) or equivalent qualifications.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Successfully managed the financial function for a company or division with multiple business unit complexity, ideally with blue-chip exposure.
• You must have operated and been a part of a board/ senior management team.
• Have expert knowledge in financial operations and international accounting principles and practices.
• Possess clear leadership and people management capabilities with a strong sense of personal gravitas.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
• Commercially focused and results driven.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, both oral and written
