The Role:
To carry out Electrical Based projects across the Scottish Power Regions. The client is looking for a solid Project Manager with a background in Electrics (Building Services, Power, Overhead Lines etc) with strong commercial accuemen. A contract to permanent placement would be considered.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent qualification, lesser qualification with experience
* Technical and Contract Management knowledge through training or education.
* Good general education - must be numerate and have good command of business language.
* Prior experience in other business functions, eg engineering, field management, commissioning.
* Commercial Experience - Contract Negotiations, Basic Finance knowledge
Remit:
* Management of a complete programme of works to ensure complete project delivery from order receipt to customer handover, ensuring all projects are delivered to programme, within budget and in accordance with customer requirements, including:
* Work closely with tendering/estimating function to ensure lessons learnt and operational experience are reflected in Freedom tender proposals.
* Proactively manage H&S issues & concerns, working closely with Design,Field and Site Management staff to ensure safety by design and an accident and incident free culture is maintained .
* Produce project programmes, working closely with project team members to ensure that all project objectives can be completed to customer requirements.
* Develop strategy to deliver and improve on budgeted margins
* Be creative in finding solutions to resource / schedule problems to maintain project. Program
* Lead the project team by displaying clear thinking and identification with customer objectives
* Work very closely with functional managers to ensure project objectives are understood and met.
