Engineering Manager (Mechanical) (Rosyth)

Our forward thinking client requires a Mechanical Engineering Manager experienced in marine systems to join their successful team based at Rosyth undertaking exciting new projects in 2013. The client will consider candidates who are managers or who are working at a senior level and looking for a step up.

Responsible for providing mechanical engineering support to all projects including renewables, nuclear, oil and gas and commercial marine.

Responsibilities
* To oversee and direct the technical work on allocated projects, promoting a culture of excellence in the quality of engineering outputs.
* To develop the technical capability of the group
* Taking a lead role in the review, maintenance and upkeep of engineering business processes and quality assurance documentation
* To deploy engineering resources to meet the priorities of Intec projects and external functions whilst maintaining the technical integrity of engineering outputs
* To develop and maintain forecasts of engineering resource requirements to meet known and expected project and function needs
* To develop budget plans and contribute to preparation of tenders
* Communicating with staff, subcontractors, business partners & customers
* The creation and maintenance of good working relationships within teams, customers and business partners

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Candidates must possess as a minimum:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) and preferably a member of IMechE
* Significant relevant engineering experience in general mechanical engineering projects
* Senior management experience
* 5 years design experience

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the follow core skills and competencies:
* Effective management and motivation of professional engineering teams
* Ability to manage multiple priorities
* Knowledge of relevant design codes and standards, and the requirements of regulatory organisations and classification societies
* Good communication skills
* An ability to capture and focus on customer requirements
* Planning, monitoring and control abilities
* Commercial awareness
