Description
My client is a Government Body embarking on 3 major national programmes, and is looking for 2 category managers to provide procurement expertise as part of this.
The role will comprise:
- Developing recommendations on strategies that will support realisation of early benefits in advance of the establishment of the NPS. These strategies are likely to include the consolidation of existing contracts, demand management and spec standardisation
- Engaging and influencing senior level stakeholder to maximise uptake of collaborative contracts
- Proactively manage and develop the supply base
Therefore, the client requires procurement professionals with the following experience:
- Experience of public sector procurement methodologies
- Experience of developing procurement strategies and best practise improvement plans
- Knowledge of end to end procurement
- Demonstrable ability in strategic procurement techniques such as strategy development, sourcing, tendering, supplier management and negotiation
- MCIPS qualified ideally
- Ideally experience of working at a strategic and level in Procurement in Wales
