Mechanical Design Engineer

West Midlands - M5 corridor

Competitive hourly rate - 6 month contract

Our client is engaged in designing, manufacturing and selling a range of market leading heating and air handling products. The Company employ over 150 people at their West Midlands site and they are part of a highly successful global organisation. Due to their continued success they are currently seeking a Design Engineer to join their very busy Design & Development department.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

The role will involve the provision of additional detail drawing of sheet metal fabricated items using AutoCAD 2012, Ideas and Radan software packages, in order to enable production to commence under short lead times. You will interpret Sales Quotations to produce fully detailed GA's for Air Handling Units (AHU's). You will be responsible for the creation of fan curves, motor drive selections and air flow & temperature rise calculations for Direct & Indirect fired units.

Skills Required:

The successful candidate will be qualified in either Product Design or Mechanical Engineering and be proficient in AutoCAD, Ideas and Radan software. You will have a proven background in the 2D / 3D design of sheet metal fabricated components and will have a good knowledge of AHU or HVAC design. You will possess excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to work efficiently to deadlines in a customer driven environment. Project management experience would be advantageous. You will also be familiar with Googlemail and Microsoft Office packages.
