My biggest client school in Birmingham is looking for additional support staff (Teaching Assistant) to start from January 2013..! This is an outstanding school that prides itself on offering the best support, guidance and education for their students; located close to public transport the school is easily accessible by tube or bus.
You will work for an experienced SENCO who already has 32 Teaching Assistant's, mainly graduates who were in the same situation as you, and 8 experienced SEN Teachers working for her, she is extremely well regarded and will give you all the support and guidance needed to settle in and make an impact.
As a Teaching Assistant at this school you will be required to work across all Key Stages, mainly in class with Literacy & Numeracy, some additional SEN 1:1 work will be required but the majority of your time will be in class.
The school is a smaller than average secondary school. It has business and enterprise college status. Almost all students are from minority ethnic groups and speak English as an additional language. The number of students known to be eligible for free school meals is much higher than the national average. The proportion of students with special educational needs and/or disabilities is well above average as is the percentage with a statement of special educational needs.
