Position Title: Senior Network EngineerDuration: Contract- 6 months
Location: Atlanta, GA 30346Our client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a 6 month contract position in the Atlanta Perimeter area. The Sr. Network Engineer will maintain Cisco and Checkpoint (and ASA) Firewalls in multiple data centers that are geographically dispersed. Initially, this role will help support the IBM Mainframe migration project from one of our client's data centers to another IBM data center from a Cisco routing perspective.

- Review change requests for accuracy and work with requesters to identify approved ports, source and destination addresses
- Perform reviews of Firewall policies and access control lists to maintain secure access controls
- Maintain remote access solutions for data centers providing remote connectivity for administrators and application support personnel to be able to support a data center
- Provide 3rd level support, after hours and on-call
- Perform packet capture and analysis, work directly with application and server hardware owners to isolate and resolve problems Perform configuration and maintenance on Cisco, CheckPoint, Infoblox equipment
- Perform Network and Security device upgrades as needed
- Implementation, support and troubleshooting of Cisco HW, Routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP
- Implementation, Support and troubleshooting of Cisco Wireless (WIFI) solution, including Wireless Controllers, and AP
- Configure Cisco ASA VPN, DMVPN, and IPSec tunnel as needed and troubleshoot as required
- Cisco hardware consists of: 3900 Series, then 6500, and NEXUS 7K
- Network Monitoring with NetScout, Spectrum, and OpNet for circuit utilization and troubleshooting to isolate network
- Provide day-to-day management and operational support for the security and network devices managed by the team
- Document existing network and security designs
Sr. Network Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience
- 8-10 years of experience required
- CheckPoint and Cisco Certification
- Strong knowledge and experience with CheckPoint R65/R75 and Cisco ASA Firewalls
- Strong knowledge and experience with Routing and Network Protocols - BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, HSRP, VRRP (BGP & OSPF are most important)
- Experience with IPSec VPN, DMVPN, and GRE Tunnel
- Solid understanding of MPLS, VPLS, EVPN technologies
- Solid understanding of IPv4, IPv6, DNS, SNMP, & Network Monitoring Tool
