Front End Developer/ long-term freelance
Location
New York, NY
This position requires solid expertise with hands-on aspects of web interface engineering, an ability to design solid front-end architectures that integrate with other systems and technologies; and the ability to communicate clearly with members of the team.
Responsibilities include collaborating with visual and interaction designers, leading the development of client side solutions; hand coding of web-based applications and/or mobile experiences, web pages, emails; integrating with back-end systems, Web Services, CMS, etc; optimization of performance for front-end applications.
Must be able to emulate and create new HTML schemes integrating with existing HTML5, Strong XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and DHTML.
Requirements:
• Curiosity and excitement
• A passion for learning new technologies / techniques
• Solid understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
• High-proficiency with compliancy standard XHTML & CSS, accessibility and SEO
• Solid hand coding, no WYSIWYG coding
• Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions
• Experience using common JS Frameworks (jQuery, MooTools, YUI, etc.)
• Expert writing professional, clean JS with scalability and extensibility in mind
• Knowledge / experience with front-end performance optimization
• Experience with server-side scripting such as PHP, .Net, Java, etc.
• Excellent debugging and problem solving skills
• Experience with source control such as GitHub or Mercurial
• Excellent time management, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills
• Ability to follow technical specifications and production processes
• 3-5 years experience
• Must be available to work on site
