Description
UI Designer
Gannett is seeking a talented and self-managing designer with a demonstrated ability to create usable, beautiful UI interfaces for our custom publishing system. This position is responsible for taking complicated information and making them simple and easy to understand.
We are looking for a designer with a great sense of information architecture, experience working directly with developers (both back and front-end) and great communication skills.
6 month contract with temp-to-perm possibilities for the right candidate. On-site in McLean, VA.
Essential Job Duties
Collaborate with the project leads to achieve a deep understanding of their requirements and needs
Create sketches, wireframes and prototypes to map out, visualize and test application flow
Ensure that best practices and standards are followed
Deliver a great user experience, in terms of visual appeal, intuitiveness, ease of use, device independence, and style
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Qualifications
Solid understanding of interface design and information architecture
Ability to design and produce user experiences, from storyboard concept to final solution
Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills relating to the design, creation, and testing
Highly?effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Education/Experience
3+ years of experience in UI design
Excellent command of Adobe CS products
