Firmware Verification Engineer - Verification Engineer - FPGA - CONTRACT
Location: West Midlands
Duration: Initially 3 months with very likely long-term extensions
A global client of ours urgently requires the services of an experienced FPGA FIrmware Verification Engineer to perform verification and documentation of an existing FPGA Actel design.
The project involves in 3 steps:
* First step is reverse engineering to update specifications.
* Second step is building a firmware verification process and write full test documentation
* Third is producing Verilog firmware to test the FPGA Actel design and perform the test
A wide range of engineering documentation, design and verification firmware is available, including Actel Libero with Modelsim, to assist the design process together with normal office software. A development laboratory is available for prototype development and testing.
It is expected that applicants will have a proven record in all aspects of hardware and firmware design with several years "hands on" experience and the ability to work quickly and efficiently within a multi-skilled engineering team. The successful applicant will work under the guidance of an experienced engineer with overall responsibility for the package associated with the project
Specific Abilities :
* Provide evidence of designing or verifying with Actel or Altera Devices
* Knowledge of Verilog
* Good team player and has initiative.
Experience :
* Avionics or safety firmware verification and documentation
* V cycle methodology and documentation
* FPGA verification using Actel/Altera (essential).
* Minimum of five years experience (essential).
