The Client

An outstanding opportunity with this multinational management consultancy based in London has arisen due to the strong growth of this company over recent years. The company provide market, commercial and strategic consulting and advisory services to commodities markets.

The Role

My client is looking for a commodities research & data analyst to join their London office. You will perform a hybrid role between the research market analysis teams and the data and information teams to enhance performance and efficiency within the business. You must be able to review and rationalise large sets of data and create processes for quick and efficient management of data. Additionally you must be able to understand the market analysis and the purpose for the data to support and enhance forecasting and analysis from an economics (Supply and Demand) perspective.

Further responsibilities include taking a lead responsibility for sourcing and manipulation of data whilst working alongside the management consultants and IT Teams and play a lead role in solving data challenged of moving market analysis online.

The Candidate
  • A Degree in a data-heavy discipline such as Economics or Econometrics is desired, although other disciplines will also be considered.
  • High proficiency in using Excel and familiar with the use of other databases.
  • Knowledge of the commodity markets. (Mining, Metals, Fertilizers and Chemicals are desirable but not essential).
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to work in teams to build relationships internally and externally with suppliers of data (both free and paid).
