The client that I am currently representing is a leading automotive company based inCambridgewithin a research centre environment. You will be working closely with the sequencing informatics groups and also interacting on a worldwide scale. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong scientific programming skills to gain significant experience working with next-generation sequencing data and to establish themselves as the lead developer/maintainer of a widely used software package that is an important part of many high impact projects around the world.
You must have experience in the following:-
- C++/C Programming
- Skills in a scientific environment
- Knowledge of Samtools API
- Source control
- High level of communication skills to be able to elicit complex requirement and information to
groups with different levels of technical knowledge
- Excellent problem solving skills
Preferably you will also have experience in:-
- NGS data formats
- Data compression algorithms
