About the Company/Position:
Unique opportunity has arisen for a SENIOR Linux ENGINEER with extensive Virtualisation experience. Use your Linux experience and Expand your technology background across OEL and OVM. You will act as the Linux Specialist to help provide Oracle Virtual Machine (OVM) skills in a project capacity. As the Linux SME, you will be expected to provide technical guidance and direction in the delivery of the OVM capability required for a customer's development, test and production environments. This is a diverse role which will require delivering high quality services in aligned with high availability Oracle technology environment.
Responsibilities:
- Execution of technical tasks including Oracle Virtual Machine (OVM) Host server installation and configuration, guest installation and configurations, performance and tuning
- Act as one of the Subject Matter experts for the Linux environment
- Provide technical assistance to the design, implementation and support
- Use technical expertise to develop options and solutions to specific projects
- Provide technical guidance and direction to more junior members of the team
- Delivery of high quality service and advice to clients in a complex, high availability Oracle technology environment
Required Skills:
- Senior Level Enterprise Linux Engineer - Redhat, OEL
- Strong Oracle Virtual Machine (OVM) - highly preferred,
- Virtualisation experience - OVM, Xen, Citrix XenServer - hands on experience in leading installation, configuration and troubleshooting tasks
- Strong experience with Oracle Enterprise Linux - Highly desirable or RHEL - Redhat Linux
- Broad exposure to a variety of other technologies (Wintel, Database, and Web layer Oracle products)
