THE RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Middleware Application Specialist you will:
- Provide a Senior Level of expertise in the provisioning of Middleware Application designs
- Design, build, document and handover Middleware Application solutions
- Ensure timely resolution of Middleware Application issues
- Participate in IT consulting and quoting for project initiatives
- Ensure all Middleware Application implementation activities are managed effectively through Change and Release Management procedures
- Work closely with stakeholder to improve technical standards and delivery processes
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
As the ideal candidate you will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience in Middleware Application design and solution implementation
- Experience working with Middleware Application technologies
- Solaris and/or Linux administration certification
- Current application of ITIL framework in an IT Operations environment
- Strong skills and experience in Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) including webservers, application Servers, content management systems and similar tools that support application development and delivery
- Strong Unix OS skills, specifically Solaris, Virtualisation technologies (Zones and VMware) and Linux
- Experience with Tomcat, Apache and Java technologies
- Experience with Puppet (advantageous)
- The ability to analyse Middleware Application configurations and designs, and to correct/improve those designs
- Display excellent time management and organisational skills
- Display strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
