CMDB System Architect )
For our customer we are looking for a System Architect
Telenor Satelllite Broadcasting has initiated a project to implement a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to achieve the following:
- Configuration extracted from the systems, correlated and stored in a common database in order to build a model of the production chain. (Function and interfaces of the system components, and relation to the services offered)
- Alarm correlation: Only show relevant alarms identifying the root cause, and differ between failures handled by redundant switchover, and service affecting failures needing immediate attention.
- Consistent naming conventions across all systems supporting automatic Incident ticket handling for the Service Desk.
- Asset management
- Event management
TSBc is looking for an experienced consultant, having extensive competence within the CMDB area and also within database modelling to be part of the project. Additional competence as a Project Manager is preferred.
The work location will be at TSBc headquarters at Fornebu, and at Nittedal Teleport in Nittedal.
Role description:
- The CMDB System Architect will as part of the implementation project have the following responsibilities and tasks:
Contribute in the project with in-depth knowledge of:
- CMBD including practical implementations
- Database modelling
- Workflow processes AS-IS and TO-BE related to CMDB implementations.
- Concept description including high-level database modelling and System Design of the CMDB in cooperation with in-house resources at TSBc.
- Ensure that information in the CMDB can be interchanged with the different tools and systems using standards to the extent possible.
- Ensure that the CMDB is implemented with a state-of -the-art GUI approved by operations personnel.
- Responsible for the technical part of the RFQ for procuring the CMDB functionality.
- Contribute in the procurement phase including participation in negotiation meetings with potential vendors and evaluation of offered solutions.
- Responsible for managing and monitoring Proof-of-Concept verification of proposed solutions from selected vendors using realistic data and work processes.
- Overall technical responsible for the Delivery phase of the CMDB functionality in cooperation with in-house resources at TSBc.
- Responsible for developing and documenting the new Work processes in cooperation with in-house resources at TSBc.
- Ensure the quality of deliveries, both from vendors and internal, and thus ensure that all required functionality in existing systems is migrated to the new solution.
- Ensure the quality of necessary manual configuration of CMDB to ensure that correct data is extracted and migrated into correct format in the CMDB.
- Overall Test Manager doing test planning and development of test cases.
- Contribute in testing of systems, processes and interfaces.
- Contribute in transition to new system/production setting including transfer to the line organization.
- Participate in training of all parts of the organisation affected by the CMDB implementation.
