The Software SQA Engineer is responsible for assuring the quality of software applicationsPrimary responsibilities include ownership and execution of the test plan and quality assurance process for new versions of software. Applicant should be experienced with test strategies for software utilized in capital equipment. SQA Engineer will report to the Director of Software Engineering.
The Software SQA Engineer is expected to:
Develop, write and execute Test plans for software releases
Develop, write and execute test procedures for software and platforms
Using requirements documents and consultation with other SW, HW, system and application engineers as needed to develop test procedures
For new features: feature test procedures
For existing features: Regression procedures( complete and mini-regression procedures)
Test procedures for installers
Develop automated test scripts using Python for regression testing.
Enter and document all bugs using jira
Manage bug life cycle
Complete bug reports and test status for PLC exit reviews
Required Experience and Knowledge:
BS or MS degree or equivalent in Engineering or related discipline
3-5 yrs experience performing software testing on the Windows platform with a software application controlling an instrument
Comfortable operating and learning to operate a complex instrument
Experience writing test plans and developing test procedures
Experience developing automated test scripts. Experience using Python a big plus
Experience working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team
Excellent people skills. Good verbal and oral communication skills
