Description
A leading Edinburgh based organisation is currently recruiting for a contractor to cover business as usual while it rolls out windows 7. The contract is for an initial 3 month period, with the chance of an 8 month extension.Roles & duties include:
1. Assisting users in defining their needs for access rights. Operate and administer logical access controls relating to one of more platforms in order to provide continuous and secure access to information services.
2. Monitor progress of requests for support and ensure users and other interested parties are kept informed.
3. Follow SLA's
4. Recieve & log requests for support from Helpdesk, other service delivery staff and/or users. Prioritise requests in accordance with agreed criteria and the needs of the organisation .
5. Assist users in making more effective use of desk-top systems, products and services. Make initial diagnosis of any problems and advise on known solutions where applicable.
6. For all products, services and systems within the area of responsibility, demonstrate, install and commission desk-top systems and their routine upgrades. Provide information on updates, known errors, changes in availability, new facilities etc.
7. Interpret technical or procedure manuals on behalf of non-technical users and provide routine training in normal usage of systems, products and services, providing information on the full range of capabilities.
