Finance Controller - Energy Trading - STn Monthly Cash Forecasting

World Leading Global Energy Trading Company has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Controller to take on a short-term role to progress process improvements until a new permanent staff member is on board.

This role will involve delivering identified planning process improvements in time for the start of the 2013 planning process and undertaking the preparation activities for the 2013 planning processes.

Working with the Trading Treasurer, you will need to deliver the STn monthly cash forecast and conduct relevant variance analysis. Identifying ways to continuously improve cash forecasting accuracy for the STn.

This includes investigating, understanding and documenting the rationale behind key adjustments between management information and financial information and ensuring timely preparation and delivery of selected management information.

You will also support other Strategic Planning, Appraisal and Reporting team initiatives within Trading and Finance to deliver continuous improvements.

This Global SPAR team has 18 people and consists of 5 teams (Central, Oil, G&P WONA, G&P North America and Projects).

You need strong accounting knowledge and analytical skills along with a professional financial qualification eg. CIMA, ACCA, ACA and strong experience in a trading environment. This needs combining with Strong analytical skills and the capacity to think through the numbers and draw insights with attention to detail, energy and ability to deliver accurate information often to tight deadlines. 

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
