Compliance SME - Airworthiness

Global IT Defence company are looking for a Airworthiness and Release Compliance SME for a 12 month contract based in Hook. For this role you must have current SC Clearance.

Role overview
To provide independent Airworthiness and Release Compliance subject matter knowledge and advice to the Release to Service Manager (RTSM), and across all programmes and projects within the Account Design Organisation (DO).

Essential Skills
+ Knowledge of and working within the full System Engineering Lifecycle in an aerospace environment including participating in Design Reviews.
+ Knowledge of MAA Regulatory Arcticles, awareness of Account standards to work closely with the Safety Management engineers.
+ Sound understanding of Configuration and Data Management.

Desirable Skills
+ Experience with preparing Certificate of Design &/or Declaration of Design and Performance.
+ Experience with reviewing the traceability within the design documentation set.
+ Experience of Qualification and Qualification Testing
+ Knowledge and experience of preparation of Aerospace Standard Specifications.

Day to Day Responsibilities
+ Hold standing authority to deputise for the RTSM during absences, at engineering reviews where RTSM presence is mandated (SRR, TRR, QRR, FRR).
+ Hold authority to sign Internal Certificates of Design (ICOD) for specific Engineering Releases, where prior delegation has been given.
+ Have standing authority within the Air Systems QMS, alongside the RTSM, Chief Engineer and PQAM, to chair Engineering Reviews as required.
+ Deliver specialist Release and Airworthiness regulatory awareness training on behalf of the RTSM to those management, OCE signatory and senior design staff (DA and above), and Project Technical Leads required to be designated as Suitably Qualified and Experienced (SQEP) for airworthiness.
+ Act as the DO primary point-of-contact for clients and external agencies for Airworthiness and Aerospace Regulatory issues.
+ Provide Airworthiness and Aerospace Regulatory consultancy services to programmes and projects within the DO.
+ Conduct document reviews and attend Engineering Reviews as specified within the Air Systems QMS, monitoring and reporting upon the adequacy of the artefacts therein with regard to MAA RA and associated other aerospace regulatory requirements.
+ Provide particular guidance to the development of through-life traceability of all artefacts affecting the validity of qualification evidence; in particular, proactively engaging in the development of DDP compliancy at the earliest opportunity in project life cycle.
+ Take joint ownership with project technical leads on production of F100A Certificates of Design (CoD) and Declarations of Design and Performance (DDP) as appropriate.
+ Be involved with the DO's internal governance review of bids and start-up projects.
+ Provide trend monitoring of Release and Airworthiness issues, identify and escalate risks therein, offer lessons identified and continuous improvement suggestions.
