Claims Handler

The Role:
Our client is looking for a claims handler for the Haverhill Branch. The successful candidate will have good customer service skills.

You will provide an efficient & effective claims service, in order to successfully negotiate a cost effective & speedy resolution of your own portfolio of claims.

1. Manage own portfolio of claims including notifications where relevant, in line with individual authority levels, in order to contribute to performance targets for the business unit.
2.Maintain accurate system estimates in line with company best practice in order to ensure appropriate reserves are held.
3.Carry out, or arrange where appropriate, investigation of claims to obtain legal and quantum information in order to make appropriate policy & legal liability decisions.
4.Recommend the most appropriate use of injury management process in order to expedite claims, whilst minimising the potential for increased costs.
5.Refer potentially fraudulent claims to fraud representatives to ensure consistent application of fraud management principles and maximise fraud saving opportunities.
6.Be aware of the key triggers which can lead to a claim being litigated and ensure that there is no unjustified/unnecessary litigation on your claims which would then inevitably lead in increased costs.

Knowledge/Skills:
Organised & able to prioritise own workload
Awareness of customer relationships & knowledge of the claims process.
Good communication skills
