Startup "ThemeWerx" looking for Wordpress design and development ninja.
Looking for a great Wordpress designer / developer to help build a business. This is a contractor position for now and we will work out a system of payment that everyone is happy with. You might think of this job as an arrangement where we bring in business and you execute and get compensated for it. You should probably be a full-time freelancer. If you don't have every single skill here locked up, but are interested and definitely fulfill the "Major Requirements", you should still get in touch with some of your work and resume.
Graphic Design
- You should definitely know your way around Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator
- Editing and customizing graphics and images is something you do in you sleep
- Must have a great eye for design. Ugly and plain looking things deeply upset you.
- Must be comfortable creating orginal graphics based on clients needs and tastes, including logo design.
- Website layouts and design must be very clean and look impressive.
Wordpress Development/Customization
- Must have developed and set up numerous Wordpress sites, many of which utilized premium themes.
- Should be comfortable with HTML, PHP, CSS, jQuery.
- Must be able to do setup, customization, and maintenance of sites following best practices. This could include...
- utilizing a test or local server for development
- using child themes for development
- updating themes
- efficiently migrating WP sites
- comfort customizing and integrating plugins (great if you have opinions on what the the best ones are for different uses)
- experience troubleshooting issues effectively
Major Requirements
Must be prepared and driven to explore and learn new techniques for both design and development to optimize processes to consistently and efficiently deliver websites that impress clients and are cost effective.
Must be:
- very open to trying new things
- available
- flexible
- a good communicator
- a great person to work with.
- would be able to train and manage other developers and designers when necessary.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: You must be confident, capable, and awesome.
If you are a full-time freelancer and can be available when needed, there is no specific location necessary other than in the US. We can be flexible for the right person.
