IT Networks Administrator (CISCO, Citrix, VPN, CCNP, Routers, Linux, Windows) is required by my market leading financial services client on a contract basis. Overview
The IT Department consists of Helpdesk and Desktop Support, Systems and Network Admin, managed by the Head of IT. The IT department is essential in ensuring that all internal systems and technical operations run smoothly. The department is relied upon to ensure that all of the company's overall goals and objectives are met by delivering high quality, innovative cost effective Services and Solutions which support the business strategy and client Architecture
About the role
You will be responsible for:
- Maintain and Support company Network infrastructure (HP, Cisco and Citrix)
- Maintain and Support company Client Connections (IPSec VPN's)
- User administration/system management (Active Directory)
- Troubleshooting/Analysing performance and reliability issues and the initiation of related improvement work
- Providing support to Team Members
- Providing network/comms support (Cisco)
- Supporting and maintaining Clients Web Server environment.
- Maintain and Document Network policies and procedures within established standard
- Assist in Network BCP Planning and implementation
- Maintain and support of Avaya IP Telephony solution
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 3 -5 Years experience managing, maintaining and troubleshooting Cisco Firewalls, VPN's and Routers (PIX and ASA) - CCNP qualification required
- Minimum of 3- 5 years experience managing and maintaining a 3Com Enterprise switched environment
- Excellent OS knowledge (Linux, Windows /XP - qualification desirable)
- Strong focus on quality of service
- Strong focus on security and security principals with relevant experience in a financial institution.
- Self motivated, organised individual with excellent time management skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good problem solving and investigation skills.
- Good inter-personal skills to deal with people

Nice to have
- Knowledge of working with and supporting a Web infrastructure
- Knowledge of Scripting and automation of systems
- Knowledge of SCOM and SCCM
- Working knowledge of MSQL
- Backup, recovery and contingency planning, onsite and offsite. (Backup Exec V10)
- Providing MSExchange support (Exchange )
- Working knowledge of VMWare products
