Software Tools and Automation Engineer

Establish and support a best in class medical Automated Test System. Development spheres include software, firmware, and system test automation design and implementation. Much of this role is software development focused, however a critical aspect of this role is establishing relationships with both the test and development teams to capitalize on the challenges and opportunities that those teams face.

Duties and Responsibilities

Working with a team to plan, implement, deploy, and validate software tools to automate portions of the software development process and our Quality system.
Developing, deploying, and testing new capabilities for our test automation system and ensuring timely completion in relation to project schedules.
Supporting developers and testers in debugging efforts by providing expertise in our deployed tools, and by creating situational specific tools.
Researching and evaluating open-source and off-the-shelf software solutions for fit and function to ease the burden of maintaining in-house software.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Extensive knowledge of software development and test methodologies, preferably in relation to the complexities created by a regulated environment.
Ability to debug applications that span multiple languages and multiple systems concurrently, using novel methods, and discover root cause of the issue.
Sensitivity to maintaining an API that is used by multiple teams and multiple projects.

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field
• 3-5+ years' experience in software development and Windows™ platform
• 2+ years' experience with C#, C++ or other Object Oriented languages

Strongly Desired Skills

• 2+ years experience with PHP
• Strong communication skills and the ability to negotiate priorities cross-functionally
• FDA tool validation experience
• MS Visual Studio with .Net
• NetBeans
• LabView, Matlab
• Python
