Edustaff are currently working with a client primary school in Southam, Warwickshire, who are looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to start in September 2013.

This Teaching Assistant job will involve supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 who have learning and behavioural difficulties. You will be responsible for promoting inclusion; working according to IEP's and advancing learning allowing the children you will be working with to make positive progress by successfully removing barriers to learning.

The successful candidate should:

• Have a proven track record of working with children with a range of Special Educational Needs
• Able to use positive reinforcement when supporting behaviour difficulties - working with pupils with ADHD this would be an advantage
• Be highly flexible and adaptable in order to meet the differing needs of the pupils
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Have excellent communication skills
• Have an extremely patient attitude ensuring a positive role model for children
• Be willing to work key Stages 1 & 2

This is a 'Good' school which continues to go from strength to strength. The relatively new Head Teacher continually strives to make sure the school progresses in the right direction.

The school is a small one form primary school with pupils from a predominately white British background. The proportion with learning difficulties and statements is above the national average with children's skills on entry to the Nursery below the excepted levels. The school offers a breakfast and after school club. It holds the Activemark, Healthy School and the bronze Eco Schools awards.

The Headteacher promotes an open and organic culture where suggestions from parents' and governors are taken on board and often acted upon. You will be well supported in your role as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant as only through this type environment can the school and pupils make the progress expected.

If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience, teamed with a caring nature and a desire to make a real difference then please send in a copy of your CV to Patrick at Edustaff.

***Please not only candidates who are successful will be contacted.
