Job descriptionIn order to strengthen our Voice team in Leuven, we are looking for audio integration engineers for realization and integration of our voice products in key mobile software and hardware platforms like Google Android, Windows Phone, TI, Qualcomm, etc.
The software department in Leuven focuses on Digital Signal Processing for Speech on Mobile devices. We deliver key software components, like acoustic echo cancellation, multi-microphone noise suppression and many more. Our engineering team is involved in research, in cooperation with universities, advanced development and product development. We are also supporting customers and regional teams with the integration of audio products in devices, platforms and frameworks.
Key/Essential Areas of Responsibility
As a member of the Voice Framework team, you are responsible for combining core speech processing components into our product, preparing the product for commercial release, improving integration of our product into the audio subsystem of common mobile operating systems and coaching our regional teams and customers towards successful design-ins. You will work in a small scrum team with a scrum master and architect.
Personal skills/competences
Thorough basic knowledge of Digital Signal Processing theory. Good Knowledge about audio and acoustics, mainly in the speech processing domain (echo cancellation, noise suppression, etc.). Excellent understanding of Object Oriented programming (C++/Java) and Embedded software development. Good software architecture and development skills. (C/C++ for products and PERL for Scripting). Experience with Mobile Operating systems (Android, Windows Mobile, etc.). Special focus to audio drivers will be a real plus. Experience with Mobile platforms (TI OMAP, Intel, LSI, STE, Qualcomm) and cores (ARM9/11, Cortex A8,A9, Atom, QDSP, TeakLite, Tencillica etc.) is very helpfull. Notions of GUI design and implementation can help. Creative and accurate working attitude. Open personality and good communication skills. Eager to improve efficiency in way of working. Able to work independently for different teams. Customer oriented attitude. Experience with Agile (scrum) way of working
