JOB 6 MONTH CONTRACTThe Senior Systems Administrator DATA CENTRE
Data Centre and Technical Application Support Team, having responsibility for the day to day performance and availability of all Tarmac IT systems, mentoring and coaching other team members and assisting the manager with reporting and budgeting processes.
Ensuring all enterprise level applications supported by the team meet SLA targets; these include availability and performance. Day to day management and monitoring of all enterprise applications and generating service management reports.
Work with the team to support and provide assistance in support business unit level applications as required.
Be the technical lead for enterprise application systems predominantly Microsoft products and specially including SQL Server (and all SQL based applications) & SharePoint.
Day to day management of all Enterprise level Microsoft based services provided by outsourced provider, (e.g. MS Exchange) and supports the management of all other services provided by the Data Centre Team.
Produce and maintain documentation, together with other relevant resources, to support Data Centre processes.Provide coaching and guidance to other members of the team. Working to develop individuals and team skills.
Job Skils
Application
Supporting the team to ensure the technical layer of Tarmac applications are available and performing within SLA.
Day to day relationships with third party application providers
Regular reviews of patch availability and perform patch upgrades
Owns key Service Management processes such as Patch Management, Capacity Management and Availability Management.
Infrastructure
Day to day relationship with third party outsourced provider to ensure infrastructure availability
Data Centre Buildings
Assist in supporting the Data Centre buildings and related infrastructure; ensuring power, cooling, etc perform to required levels.
IT Processes
Produce and maintain documentation, together with other relevant resources, to support Data Centre processes.
Broad understanding of Data Centre technical technologies.
Good understanding of software and hardware technologies in use by Tarmac including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Products (SharePoint, SQL, etc)
Good understanding of enterprise storage architecture, EMC, NetApp.
Understanding of both technical and business requirements of applications
Understand Service Management and has skills in managing business requirements
Knowledge of IT industry trends and new technologies
Knowledge of Microsoft Licensing in relation to DC services.
