The client is one of the UK`s leading renewable energy developers and operators, and are looking for an experienced Offshore Civil Installation Engineer.
The project is currently the FEED and Tender phase. The team is increasing to meet the requirements of the project and are looking for experienced individuals.

Main Purpose of Job:

- To devise a strategy for the transport and installation of all offshore civil/structural assets within the client`s offshore wind farm project including the wind turbine generators and their foundations and substructures, and the OSP topsides, foundation and substructures
- To ensure that civil assets are designed and fabricated to facilitate safe and efficient transport, installation and decommissioning
- To ensure that civil assets are transported and installed in accordance with the client`s requirements, consent approval and of the design intent
- To ensure that technical risks during the transportation and installation of the civil assets are assessed, avoided or mitigated through selection of the most appropriate vessels, equipment and temporary works during the installation process
- To provide a continuity of technical management through the design and installation process including a presence offshore during installation to supervise contractors` works
- To select an appropriate Marine Warranty Surveyor and manage their involvement in the project to ensure safe, efficient and timely installation of all assets covered by the project insurances


Responsibilities:

- Produce the project transport and installation strategy for the civil assets. This shall include vessel types, not to exceed lift weights, transportation and logistical concept, construction port strategy etc.
- Document the requirements for the design and fabrication & the transportation, storage and installation of the civil assets with respect to installation for inclusion in the invitation to tender
- Assessment of tenders for the design and fabrication and for the transport and installation
- Produce strategy for Marine Warranty Surveyor and technical documentation for invitation to tender for Marine Warranty services contract
- Supporting the interface engineers to ensure that other packages are managed effectively
- Liaison with the engineers responsible for the design process to ensure all interfaces between design and installation are effectively managed
- Review of contractor method statements and risk assessments
- Site supervision of fabrication of vessels, installation equipment and temporary works
- Offshore supervision of transportation and installation activities
- Ensuring availability of necessary documentation for certification and marine warranty surveillance process
- Liaison and management of Marine Warranty Surveyor activities


Skills:

- Technical background, qualification Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Bachelor`s Degree or higher
- Extensive offshore experience especially with pile installation, heavy lifts, marine operations, vessel operations, anchoring, and construction port set up.
- Good understanding of:
- Naval architecture, ballasting, sea fastening, load outs, heavy lifts, offshore logistics, weather down time analysis, risk analysis
- Offshore piling, drilling, levelling, grouting and welding
- jack up, UXO and other hazards
- Knowledge of rules, regulations and standards applicable to offshore transportation & installation works
- Knowledge of CDM regulations
