This challenging role will see you design, communicate and implement technology architectural solutions amongst seasoned piers in meeting key objectives within a pre-determined time frame.
On a daily basis you will:
- Support in the definition of the technology architecture vision, strategy, principles & standards.
- Establish buy-in from internal/external stakeholders, management and delivery partners.
- Adhere to architecture artifacts including the technology and infrastructure plan, current state architecture, target state architecture, architectural roadmaps, patterns and standards.
- Govern across and ensure that the scope and design of strategic projects are aligned with the target Enterprise Architecture.
- Ensure that tactical initiatives reducing risks and deviation from strategic plan are understood.
- Review and assess impact of proposed scope changes to the future state technology architecture particularly related to architectural trade-offs.
- Assess effectiveness of technology and make recommendations where necessary; identify opportunities for cost reductions and service improvements.
- Maintain an excellent knowledge of relevant industry/vendor products and solutions.
- Take the opportunity to share and communicate knowledge of the technology architecture, and other areas of expertise with the wider IT group as well as other business units.
- Contribute to the overall alignment of other IT teams including development, services delivery, and IT Operations.
- 7-10 years Solution Architecture experience preferably within the Energy Sector (Gas, Electricity, and/or Water).
- Experience in the delivery of complex IT solutions including full development and ownership of end to end project solution architectures.
- Experience with TOGAF architectural framework.
- Experience in all aspects of enterprise modelling, with specific expertise in one or more of the following domains Applications, Data, Business and/or Technology.
- Familiarity with graphical modelling approaches with tools such as Orbus iServer.
- Experienced in techniques of risk analysis.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, negotiation, and ability to present at a high level.
- Ability to multi-task and work autonomously.
- Self-starter with excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
Desirable skills include:
- Experience applying skills in a mergers and acquisitions environment.
- Experience with industry market systems such as Oracle CC&B.
