Job Description
Come build apps with TrailBehind, and help people find their way. Based in Berkeley, CA, we build navigation apps for adventurous people, who live and work on the network’s fringe.

We are looking for a developer with demonstrated expertise in Android apps, to lead development of Gaia GPS. Your job might range from building a cross-platform, OpenGL, C++ 3D mapping engine, to implementing a better way to filter GPS track data.

The position is contract-to-hire.

Skills & Requirements

Things that would make you a killer candidate for this job:
  • you have published an Android app and know Java
  • you are very good at math, maps, and/or map math
  • you can understand OpenGL, 3D graphics, and C++
  • you are a full-stack engineer, with skills across mobile and web

    Anna and Andrew founded TrailBehind.com in 2008 to help people find great places to hike. Since then, TrailBehind has evolved to develop mapping apps of all kinds. Anna is the real nerd of the two - an ex-Google programmer, with degrees in math and computer engineering, she calls all the technical shots. Andrew handles the business side of things, and writes client-side code. TrailBehind is now comprised of Anna, Andrew, Jesse (development), Savannah (marketing and support), and Steve (support).
