Salary: £70-80,000.00

A leading client are looking for a Regional Technical Accreditation & Training Manager EMEA to support the expansion of the Engineering delivery in line with new contract growth operating across the EMEA region.The successful individual will be a technically qualified professional as a mechanical or electrical engineer and will be Health and Safety qualified.This position is responsible for supporting the Engineering Programme Director (EMEA) to ensure all engineering practices are continuously compliant with all legal and statutory requirements and that all staff are competent and adequately trained.

Job Summary:

*Responsible for supporting the self-delivery of engineering services across EMEA

*Responsible for ensuring that all aspects of high-risk works (High Voltage, Boilers and Pressure Systems and Confined Spaces) are adequately controlled in accordance with the company safety rules and procedures and all accreditation bodies

*Continual compliance with all relevant UK / EU legislation and directives through continuously ensuring that engineering delivery provides the necessary level of skilled persons to undertake work in a safe manner

*Assessment and appointment of competent persons throughout the engineering teams. This also includes ensuring that 3rd party suppliers are managed and monitored in accordance with best practice

*Responsible for the completing skill gap analysis across the range of engineering disciplines and identification of appropriate and relevant training to meet accreditation and best practice standards

*Responsible for organising and delivering training courses as appropriate

*Close liaison with engineering leadership, clients and senior management is a pre-requisite of this post, combined with the ability to regularly present technical innovations and improving safety standards

Duties & Responsibilities

*Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required

*To develop training programmes for all engineering personnel

*Develop engineering skills throughout the whole engineering team by mentoring and assessing engineering competence

*To act as the focal point of communication for all engineering Health & Safety issues

*Ensure that comprehensive engineering records are kept in the form of auditable methods either paper trail or electronically

*Ensure close liaison with the NICEIC, B&ES (HVCA), Gas Safe and REFCOM as Principal Duty Holder

*Provide regular monthly reports regarding engineering compliance to the Engineering Programme Director

*Ensure that all subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes

*To develop a good working relationship with all staff and clients

*Ensure a professional image of the company is presented to clients and visitors, and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

You will be the High Voltage Authorising Engineer and be responsible for the following:

*Appointing Senior Authorised/Authorised HV persons. Maintain a register of all Senior Authorised/Authorised Persons. Define in writing, using drawings and diagrams if considered appropriate, the extent of the systems and installations for which each Senior Authorised/Authorised Persons is to be responsible

*If necessary, suspend the appointment of a Senior Authorised/Authorised Persons by withdrawing their Certificate of Appointment

*Report any deficiency in the number of suitably trained and experienced Senior Authorised/Authorised Persons that significantly impairs the Company's ability to provide a safe and effective service

*Audit the performance and record the operational experience of each Senior Authorised/Authorised Persons at twelve monthly intervals

*At intervals not exceeding three years, undertake comprehensive audits and review each Senior Authorised/Authorised Persons operational experience

*Notify the company of any known defect reports or Operational Restrictions issued by a distribution Network Operator, a manufacturer or supplier of electrical equipment, which is applicable to equipment within the areas for which the Authorising Engineer is responsible

*Ensure that a system is in place to circulate relevant information on Operating Restrictions and Dangerous Occurrences to all Authorised Persons.

Skills

*Technically qualified professional mechanical or electrical engineer.

*Health and Safety qualified (i.e. Nebosh General Certificate)

*Multi-disciplined experience.

*Excellent written and oral skills are essential combined with interpersonal skills

*Ability to learn, and develop both building fabric knowledge, and understanding or local organisational systems and processes

*Able to make sound accurate decisions when needed

*Physically fit and able to ascend and descend vertical access equipment if required

*Able to work at heights and on roofs if required

*Practical experience in Hard Services contract delivery

*Ability to be flexible with working hours, as the role may on occasions become reactive that could require attendance out of hours

*Able to attend the site location to participate in out-of-hours emergency call-out procedures

Experience

*Formally trained in mechanical and electrical services maintenance (Time served recognised apprenticeship + 10 years post experience).

*Up to date skills on building management systems, ACOP's, fire and environmental control, building control etc.

*Formal health and safety training.

*Experience of man management in all areas of high-risk work.

*Comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering experience, undertaking reactive and planned preventative maintenance.

*Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations with regard to maintenance activities.

*Experience of working in a similar environment with a proven track record of compliance.

*Excellent I.T skills.

Qualifications

*Chartered Engineer via a recognised engineering institution (IET, CIBSE, IMechE etc)

*BEng/MSc in an Engineering subject

*Nebosh General Certificate in Health & Safety

*Current Authorising Engineer Certificate for High Voltage, Confined Spaces and Pressure systems working

*Current High Voltage Senior Authorised Person Certificate
