Senior Town Planning Officer

An opportunity has arisen within the Town Planning Development Control department with a leading London based local authority to take on a senior role dealing with major project applications. Our client is a local authority based in North London looking for an experienced town planner able to start immediately. With a good chance of an extension after the initial 3-month period and an opportunity to progress to a permanent position, this could be the ideal job for you.

The Job

As a successful candidate, you will be required to:
- Manage a major applications and high value project applications in a diverse local authority.
- Provide information, guidance and advice as required to applicants, developers and their agents, members of the public, local organisations, other Council departments and others on planning matters.
- To take on a leading role, responsible for mentoring planning officers.

The Person

As the successful applicant you will have the ability to manage a variety of major applications and enquires.
- You will be professionally qualified (RTPI recognised) .
- You will have development management experience dealing with major applications, preferably within a London local authority.
- You will pride yourself on good customer care skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and have excellent team management skills.
