Based just to the East of Birmingham City Centre, this 'Good' Ofsted 2012 client Secondary School are seeking to appoint an outstanding 1st or 2.1 Class Degree English Graduate to the role of Graduate English Teaching Assistant, to support within their English Department across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5.

The role of a Teaching Assistant will be full time and to start immediately, running through to the end of the school year in August 2013, giving the successful Graduate English Teaching Assistant, plenty of fantastic experience before embarking on your training to become a teacher.

In your role as the successful Graduate English Teaching Assistant, you are required you to work on a 1:1 basis with pupils and also in small groups across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5. There will be a variety of support required, with the successful Graduate English Teaching Assistant due to work with both the gifted and talented and also those pupils who require extra support to reach expected levels. You will be supported throughout your contract and be given training, where needed to help you excel within your role, by the fantastic Head of English.

As the successful Graduate English Teaching Assistant, you will be included onto the Graduate Training programme, which will support you through your role and help you flourish, giving you immense experience, before embarking on your teacher training.

Senior Management at the school provide excellent leadership and direction to pupils and staff. All members of staff at the school are extremely supportive and welcoming. The school has developed an ethos of hard work, with all staff and pupils pulling in the same direction to ensure that the high standards and expectations that are set are achieved. As the successful English Graduate Teaching Assistant, will be required to embrace this ethos, learn from the staff around you, and utilise your own initiative to provide excellent classroom support and aid in the development of those pupils you support.
