My client is a large Bank based in Southampton. They are looking for a accountant to work with life and pensions. Ideally the candidate will have experience of investment accounting and be part or fully qualified.

Principle Accountabilities
1. Prepare Life & Pensions creations schedules and MI and complete Box Management.
2. Maintain Fund records on Lifepen, FNZ Platform and CUTAS settling client deals and creations.
3. Review of Life and pension and TIP prices.
4. Maintenance and update of general ledger.
5. Preparation of monthly fund MI.
6. Completion of Statutory and Group Reporting.
7. To exercise control over designated general ledger accounts.
8. Managing Team workload and Staff Development.

To continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.

In conjunction with Compliance department, to implement the Group Compliance Policy by containing compliance risk in conjunction with the relevant compliance department. The term 'compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.

To adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls including all Data Security requirements.

The jobholder is part of a team responsible for Unit Pricing and Investment Accounting for Life and Pension Funds. The accuracy of daily unit pricing and box management is critical as there is potential for significant reputational and financial risk to the Company if these are incorrect.

The monthly General Ledger update is also critical as it forms the basis for internal management and Group reporting and external regulatory reporting. The jobholder is mainly responsible for unit pricing and investment accounting duties, but may be required to cover other tasks within the team and wider finance department if the need arises.
