Description
SQL Server Skillset Priorities
- Database Engine: This part of SQL Server actually creates and drives relational databases. The business logic is primary coded in the stored procedures and table driven.
- SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS): SSIS is a component of SQL Server that does the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) process that cleans up and formats raw data from source systems for inclusion in the database.
- SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS): SSRS is a component of SQL Server that provides reporting regardless of a database's operating system.
- SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS): SSAS is the data-analysis component of SQL Server. OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) cubes for data mining.
Job Functions
- Plan, design, and implement application database objects, such as stored procedures, views, and functions ( Attention to detail and testing is critical )
- Build and maintain SQL scripts, indexes, and complex queries for data analysis and extraction.
- Provide database coding to support business applications using T-SQL.
- Ensure best practices are applied and integrity of data is maintained through security, documentation, and change management.
- SQL Troubleshooting included file groups, data access, ODBC, indexes, stored procedures.
- Experience with data importing and exporting. Develop new processes to facilitate import and normalization.
- Perform quality assurance and testing of SQL server environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with relevant degree (preferred)
- One or more years of experience with SQL
- Experience with Transact-SQL, Visual Basic for Applications, and Visual Basic.NET (required)
- Experience with HTML (preferred) and JavaScript (preferred)
- Languages: Transact -SQL, Visual Basic for Applications, Visual Basic.NET, HTML, JavaScript
- Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, Access 2010, Oracle
- Others: Microsoft Terminal Services( Remote Desktop Server ), Microsoft Office Products, Cognos BI Reporting, Application Virtualization
