Oracle Developer - Bank

Our client, a leading financial services organisation, has an immediate contract requirement for an Oracle analyst/programmer. Applicants must have at least 5 years project experience analysing, designing and implementing complex web orientated financial applications. The primary objectives of the candidate will be to participate in the analysis, design, development and testing of software to support the business activities of the organisation. The primary job responsibility will be to analyse business and/or systems requirements specifications and develop Oracle Forms, PL/SQL and Oracle Reports application modules to meet those requirements. This position will require the developer to work in a team environment. The role will require the analysis of business requirements specifications and the provision of technical design and development services to address the business requirements. This development process will encompass new development as well as existing system processes, procedures, and reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong application system design skills, must be able to work as part of a team or independently, and possess good written and communication skills. Responsibilities: Development team participation in the design, development, and support of mission critical applications Development and testing of new application modules as well as enhancements to existing application modules. Design, develop, and conduct unit test plans for ensuring application code is operating correctly Development of design and application documentation Participation in code reviews Minimum requirements - ; Skills / Experience / Qualifications Bachelor or Masters Degree in Computing or Engineering. Financial sector industry experience, e.g. preferably with familiarity of Front and Back Office operations, typical in a banking environment, and will also ideally have had some exposure to compliance and audit requirements in a controlled financial environment. Oracle Forms amp; Reports 10gR2 and PL/SQL (database packages and stored procedures), development with 5+ years relevant experience Knowledge and use of development methodologies, standards and procedures Understanding of Oracle performance tuning principles Relational database design skills Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) concepts and implementation skills Experience / understanding of software development life cycle. Ability to work with business users. The ability to work in a team and as an individual The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadline Knowledge and experience of the following technologies and methodologies would also be of benefit (but not required). Technical certifications in relevant technology areas Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) dash-boarding and reporting suite Dimensional Modelling skills, e.g. using Kimball methodology SQL Data Modeller (or an equivalent data modelling tool) SQL Navigator / Toad Working knowledge of Java/J2EE, JDeveloper
