Manning Global is currently looking for an experienced Operations Security Specialist for one of our clients, a leading International Telecommunications Company, for a Contract position based in the UK

Job Description:

In the role of Security Specialist, you will assist in formulating the overall solution for a Managed Security Service within the UK & I MS Operations team. You will be working with the delivery team, wider operations resources and security product specialists as needed to complete a managed security solution that provides business value to our clients customer/s. Once established, you will be the security advocate for service enhancements, solution designs and the overall architecture strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
•Help design, implement and evolve the end to end processes and procedures required to deliver a security monitoring, reporting and incident management capability, within a Security Operations Centre (SOC), for various Telecom Operators and service providers.
•Develop SOC standardised policies to solidify internal SOP’s, guidelines, and processes.
•Ensure by design that the Security Operations Centre is effectively monitoring the Customer environment to ensure that security is not breached and remedial action is taken in a timely manner;
•Work with the team to effectively bring into operation and refine a new Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Security Information & Event Management system (SIEM).
•Assist the team in liaising with the client and third parties to advise and remediate any security concerns identified through the monitoring service.
•Help oversee penetration testing activities performed both via internal resources and a third party PCI-DSS ASV.
•Work with the Operations team to develop a structured operational life cycle around Vulnerability Scanning (and remediation activities), Firewall configuration / rule reviews.
•Assist the SOC Manager and SOC Analysts in coordinating incident response, conducting investigations on a variety of topics, report writing, and establishing standards and measurable data points.
•Provide system security advice and reporting to senior management, system staff and users;

Additional accountabilities:
•Help facilitate with our product specialists the scoping and delivery of new client requested capabilities such as File Integrity Management, Data Loss Prevention, PCI Tokenisation and GreenNet.
•Ensure integrated approach with Information Assurance to ensure integrity of security policies and processes
•Work with the Risk & Compliance Manager to uphold and deliver group security policies and support any audit and compliance activities.
•Any other duties as deemed necessary to achieve department goals
•Be commercially aware, understand ITC cost drivers and ensure cost effective ITC service delivery for the business

Qualifications:
•Experience in operating in a Security Team Environment
•Preferred proven relevant ITC Security experience including internet, networking and security testing methodologies.
•A knowledge of delivery in a multi-disciplined ICT environment
•Demonstrable experience of security processes
•Expertise in management, training and knowledge of security monitoring and incident response.
•Experience of working within a change control and incident management environment Experience in Security Analytics



Technical & Specialist Knowledge
•Familiarity of PCI DSS and NICC ND 1643 standards / compliance requirements
•Understanding of Intrusion Detection Systems and threats detected (DDOS etc)
•Knowledge of vulnerability scanning technologies (QUALYS) and report output
•Knowledge and experience of a Security Information & Event Management tool
•Very good awareness of existing and emerging security threats.
•Good overall understanding of ICT security fundamentals and systems including:?Multiple operating systems
?Client / Server applications
?Firewalls
?Enterprise security applications and devices
?Networking principles and Internet protocols
?Patch management
?Forensic monitoring
?Up to date industry awareness
