Embedded Firmware Engineer

Contract

3 Months+

Cambridge

My client is looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer join on an initial 3 month contract.

The Role:

- Embedded engineering design

- Will report directly to the Technical Director and Projects Manager

- Development and prototyping of embedded firmware and electronics hardware

Required:

- Embedded C / C++ / VHDL design

- Microcontrollers / Microprocessors hardware design

- Firmware development and customisation

- Electronics / Digital / FPGA / CPLD hardware design

- Comms protocols for backplane busses and / or WIFI / cellular networks

- The candidate should be proficient with electronics simulation, design and de- bugging tools

- Experience with GUI generation and ATE is desirable e.g. Labview

Desirable:

- Power Amplifiers, Oscillators, Mixers, Limiters, Switches and LNAs

- SatCom BUCs, RF over Fiber, Switch Matrices and FMCW radar

- Altium PCB design software is desirable

- Experience of working on Defence related projects is desirable

- Experience with mechanical design CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Solid Works etc's
