Technical Support/Information Security/Risk/West Yorkshire- 350 Per Day



A 3 Month Contract Opportunity has just become available in West Yorkshire. You will be a key member of a team providing investigations services across a major Financial organisation. Through the provision of specialist investigations, the team is able to lead, direct and oversee any investigations into material or significant risk event within their mandate area.



KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS NEEDED



  • · Likely to have a gained a minimum of 2 years practical experience in IT, IT Security, Information Security or equivalent areas
  • · Knowledge and appreciation of IT, IT Security and Information Risk principles, including regulatory, legislative and industry practices gained through practical experience and/or professional qualification(s).
  • · Good communication (written and verbal) and influencing skills, with an ability to manage internal and external relationships at all levels and business areas.
  • · Demonstrable ability in analysing situations, making recommendations, articulating technical security issues and associated risks, influencing outcomes, decision making and ensuring successful delivery.
  • · A technical knowledge and working application of a range of computer platforms (mainframe, midrange and PC), database, applications, Internet, network and communication technologies in sufficient breadth and depth to be able to deliver the services (as detailed in the accountabilities section) for multiple and complex environments/projects.
  • · An awareness of the Information Security controls that can be applied to assist in the management of risk.
  • · Awareness of the technical and legal aspects of incident handling and technical investigations
  • · Experience and understanding of some of the following areas: -
  • Email systems (eg, Exchange, SMTP etc)
  • Internet Proxies (eg, IIS, Bluecoat)
  • Log analysis and OS analysis
  • Forensic Methodology
  • · Support the development of an overall security strategy (functional and technical) and architecture, including policies, security standards and guidance notes defining controls.
  • · Provide technical security and best practice advice and support to key customers, to ensure that security standards, controls and requirements are understood and complied with.
  • · Lead the communication and reporting of security vulnerabilities to appropriate areas, and escalate potential security vulnerabilities and issues to Group Investigations management.
  • · Support the implementation of new initiatives and changes to current working practices, taking into account new technological advances and industry best practices.
  • · Manage own workload to ensure the provision of quality services and BAU, with particular focus on ensuring utilisation of resources and delivery of work on time, to plan, to budget and to quality.
