Outsource UK Ltd are actively seeking to recruit for a contract role on behalf of a client.

The Job:

  • Responsible functionally and operationally to a nominated QA manager for ensuring quality policies, practices, processes, tools and standards are implemented and maintained.
  • Working in a Matrix organisation structure the Quality Assurance Engineers have responsibility to the project for managing and co-ordinating quality assurance activities on the projects.

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Implementing an audit programme that feeds into the overall site/business audit programme, covering both internal activities and suppliers for the project.
  • Verifying compliance with procedures and identify improvements.
  • Liaising with Procurement/Subcontract management and the Project team to ensure a coordinated implementation of Supplier Management strategy.
  • Evaluating quality reports and recommending containment, correction and corrective actions.
  • Ensuring that audit Improvement Action Plans (IAPs) and Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs) are monitored and progressed to a timely conclusion.
  • Acting as primary customer interface on quality matters, giving customer satisfaction the highest possible priority, continually seeking to exceed customer expectations and requirements and ensuring that any customer complaints are dealt with promptly. (Includes support to customer attended Factory Acceptance Tests)
  • Liaising with Manufacturing and Design Authorities to ensure effective control of non-conforming product.
  • (Includes support to Non-conformance Material Review Boards and Concession processing).
  • Providing regular communication, input and advice to the Project on quality related matters.
  • Provide the Project with non-conformance and corrective action performance metrics and analysis.

Individual Accountability

  • Participates as a QA team member, reviews and advises on preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects.
  • May provide technical leadership to a small group of temporarily assigned QA engineers.
  • Ensures successful completion of the assigned activities within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
  • Ensure that products are produced in accordance with appropriately defined processes and procedures on behalf of the Quality Manager authorise release of product on certificates of conformity.
  • Preparation and maintenance of project Quality plans.
  • Engagement in Quality planning and encourage Advanced Product Quality Planning procedures and techniques.
  • Manage concessionary actions for deviations and waivers.
  • Ensure meaningful and accurate non-conformance and corrective action performance metrics are in place.
  • Supports peer development in the QA field
  • Support process improvement within QA discipline.
  • Conduct project, process and supplier audits (as required).
  • Support ISO9001/AS9100 certification and any specific Product Certification.
  • Encourage continual improvement across the business and identification/development of opportunities.

Key Skills

  • Experienced QA Professional.
  • Lead auditor qualified or equivalent with significant auditing experience.
  • Analytical approach and experience in effective problem solving including experience in the use of 'quality tools'.
  • Proven record in identification of opportunity for improvement.
  • Experience of Continuous Improvement.
