Global healthcare client currently have an URGENT requirement for a Sterilisation Utilities Engineer. Based in Ireland we are looking for an experienced Sterilisation Engineer with experience of Ethylene Oxide (ETO) to oversee the operation of the utility sterilisation equipment including all aspects of chilled water supply, compressed air, electrical & all utilities requirements for the ETO sterilisation process.Working within a medical device manufacturing facility, producing a range of disposable hospital products - such as plastic processing, extrusion, moulding, state of the art assembly automation, packaging and in-house sterilisation.
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, key responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the supply of ETO, Steam & Nitrogen to the ETO process and maintaining of the equipment used in the sterilization operation.
- Monitoring changes in technologies / Sterilization and recommend/implement changes in strategies/processes that will result in reduced schedules, cost reductions and quality improvements.
- Execute the utilities preventive maintenance program and ensure compliance to Abbott standards.
- Ensuring that the plant has adequate levels of electrical power, compressed air, chilled water and heating and ventilation.
- Responsible for overseeing the quality and safety of Engineering works carried out on Utilities systems.
- Support engineering in product, process and equipment validation where required.
- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the plant.
- Ensure timely investigation of CAPA and ensure appropriate and effective actions are implemented.
- Ensure that all utilities systems/practices comply with corporate, division, ISO 13485, FDA and EU requirements.
- Support in inspections/audits performed by regulatory agencies.
This position is available as a contract OR permanent position
To be successful for this position we are looking for the following:-
* Knowledge & experience of ETO systems (Ethylene Oxide) and ISO11135 would be advantageous
* Ideally a degree in engineering
* Pharma experience ideally
