Description
Key Activities:- Providing expert communications advice to our customers on all aspects of their business
- Producing a broad range of written communications to the highest standard; using their expertise and experience to identify the right channels and styles for specific audiences
- Developing communications strategies and action plans for high-profile projects/campaigns and managing their effective implementation
- Providing day-to-day leadership and project based management to more junior members of the team
- Supporting colleagues from media, briefings and FOI teams to gather information and intelligence to ensure effective responses to the media and other stakeholders
- Maintaining excellent contacts and relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
Required Experience:
- Experience of working directly with the media, politicians and other key stakeholders in a dedicated communications role
- Experience of line management and supporting the personal development staff
- Significant experience of delivering written and verbal briefings for senior staff to support the effective management of internal and external communications on complex or contentious issues.
- Significant experience of preparing and implementing effective communications plans for a range of projects/campaigns; with tangible examples of successful delivery.
- Evidence of using a wide range of communications tools and channels with the ability to identify the right channel for any particular audience.
- A positive and supportive approach to working with colleagues in dedicated media, briefings and FOI roles.
- Significant experience of sourcing, contracting and managing external suppliers such as designers, printers, additional comms capacity, or specialist consultation and engagement experts.
- Track record of appointing and managing external suppliers to deliver excellent outcomes on time and in budget.
