Software Engineer: Scala, MongoDB, MySQL, Play! framework
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work a 1 year plus contract with the possibility of permanent employment. You must be interested in or have experience programming with Scala. We are open to interviewing developers with a strong background in Java, PHP, RoR or Python. You would be working in an Agile/Scrum environment with a very talented team that is building a high performance Expedia-like booking portal.
Desired Skills:
- Scala professional or open source project experience. Alternatively, let us know if you have familiarity with Scala on personal projects or a prior burning interest to learn & apply Scala
- Expert-level programming and design skills in Java or equivalent. Functional language programming experience a plus
- Passion for and experience in building innovative software. You create lightweight solutions to business problems
- Commercial experience with distributed, high-performance systems
- Database experience (MySQL &NoSQL preferred)
- Lift web framework
- Self-starter, rapid learner, self-taught
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
