Description
SQL Server DBA required for a 6 month contract position in Dublin, Ireland. You must be eligible to work in Ireland of course and I am keen to see CV's from candidates with the skill set detailed below.
The ideal candidate will have a strong SQL DBA background covering SQL 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008R2 and ideally 2012. You must be familiar with the SQL stack - SSRS, SSIS & SSAS and be capable of addressing BI/ETL development and maintenance.
Skills and Experience:
Essential
- 5+ years SQL Server R2/2012 DBA experience in an enterprise environment
- 5+ years T-SQL development experience, with good working knowledge of best practices
- ETL and BI solution development and maintenance experience using SQL Server 2008R2/2012, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
- Experience with T-SQL development/analysis in an environment using ORM tools
- Experience of VMware/Hyper V
- Experience of Windows Server R2/2012 and Active Directory
- Experience of Microsoft Visual Studio , Team Suite an advantage
- Possess excellent communication skills, the drive to succeed and work independently and on a team, with the ability to multi task, and deliver quality results
- Experienced engineer with broad understanding of all the components of large service oriented architecture solutions
- Practical knowledge of Source Control Management, specifically branching, tagging and merging of different code streams
- Experience of interfacing with project management
- Possess excellent communication skills, the drive to succeed and work independently and on a team, with the ability to multi task, and deliver quality results
- 3rd Level Degree in Computer Science or comparable
Desirable
- Exposure to the educational software environment and familiarity with industry standards and specifications
- .Net 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 an advantage
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience working with third party development teams
