Infrastructure Finance Business Partner- Capex
Location: Woking
Contract Duration: 3 months
Rate: Up to £315 per day

As Finance Manager to the route works delivery organisation the successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the growth & development of Operation's in-house capex delivery function whilst managing the project accounting process and maintaining core aspects of financial control across the portfolio.

Key accountabililities will include:-
To act as the Finance Business partner to the route Programme Managers and their teams.
Provide guidance and advice where necessary to promote financial awareness whilst becoming an integrated member of the delivery organisation.
Manage the preparation of business plans, budgets and rolling forecast for both capex delivery and opex.
Maintain visibility of and budgetary control over the organisation's programme of works through periodic review, reporting and analysis.
Manage and own the project accounting process for all capex delivered internally within the route through proficient use of Oracle Projects. Help project managers and sponsors alike to follow due process and facilitate accordingly.
Promote good project accounting practice through KPI reporting and a firm understanding of all accruals and F4 Reds & Ambers.
Establish and monitor all risks and opportunities associated with a programme of works to help the route as a whole to drive efficiency and plan effectively to maximise output across all renewals disciplines.
Support the Head of Works Delivery to grow the business by providing the financial understanding required to win the confidence of Route Asset Managers and Sponsors alike.

Essential Skills:
High level of understanding of financial and/or commercial systems and policies within the company
High level of numeracy
Strong leadership ability
Able to effectively communicate at all levels inside and outside of the business
Self motivated and able to work on own initiative
Effective and proven negotiation skills with ability to influence decision making
Can demonstrate innovative thinking in taking actions to improve performance and problem solving

Desirable Skills
Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject area and accredited professional qualification in either finance or commercial profession.
Full membership of an appropriate professional organisation
Post qualification experience
