Title: Systems Engineer
Type: Contract- 6 months
Location: Atlanta, GA 30339
Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer for a 6 month contract position in Atlanta, GA. System Engineers are responsible for working with Product Managers on product requirements, high-level design, infrastructure setup, configuration, and automation. This requires an excellent understanding of sound application/infrastructure design, networking, application deployment and management, server provisioning and maintenance, and platform automation.
The Systems Engineer will be part of a group of advanced technologists within the company providing world class platform and infrastructure services for our internal application teams. Members will be responsible for the full deployment, infrastructure automation, and providing tools and applications for the Operations team to manage the full life cycle of each application. Members will manage applications across physical, virtual, and cloud instances, and will tailor applications deployment systems to meet operational needs. Our team's main client is the 24x7 operations team who run the platform we develop and maintain.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
- 5-10 years of experience with infrastructure management, Linux administration, and networking services
- Experience managing applications running hothot across multiple locations
- Good understanding of nonrelational data stores such as MongoDB, Riak or CouchDB
- 2+ years of experience in high volume public facing web site environments
- Ability to create and maintain a strong working relationship with Product managers, Architects, System
- Broad IT understanding with a focus on B2B and B2C websites and services
- Experience with Puppet, MCollective, and Factor
- Linux Administration experience (RedHat 6.x/CentOS 5.x & 6.x)
- Good working knowledge with Scripting languages such as, Perl, Python or PHP
- Experience with configuration and management of CDN's (Akamai or level3)
- Apache and Tomcat experience
- VMware, XEN, KVM administration experience
- Knowledge of NFS protocol and tuning
- Intermediate level knowledge in MySQL or Oracle
- Experience with varnish or Squid a plus
- Knowledge of creating RPMs for open source and CPAN modules a plus
- Experience administering SAN, NAS storage and Netbackup a plus
