Description

Esvelte Digital Ltd is a small digital development studio based in Sheffield, UK. We've been designing and building websites and web applications for small to medium sized companies for the last eight years or so.

We have an opening for a freelance web developer for part-time hours during April, with the potential to increase to full-time hours going forward.

We're looking for someone who can...

  • Happily code in OO PHP and Javascript (Jquery and perhaps another JS framework such as Backbone.js)

You should ideally have experience with...

  • ExpressionEngine (including add-on development)
  • GIT version control
  • Multi-stage deployment of web apps (local, dev, staging, production)

About you...

  • Ideally, you will have worked in either an agency environment or as a freelancer with your own end-clients.
  • As this will likely be a telecommuting role (although desk space is an option), you will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills (your timezone will therefore have to be GMT or at least close to GMT)

Secondary skills...

It would be beneficial if you also had experience with;

  • HTML/CSS
  • JSON
  • Google APIs such as Google Maps
  • Facebook APIs
  • MySQL
  • RESTful / SOAP APIs

And even more amazing (but not essential) would be knowledge of:

  • Client-side templating, such as ICanHaz.js / Underscore.js etc.
  • CodeIgniter/Laravel
  • Apple Macs (but if you're a Windows/Linux user we won't hold it against you ;-)
This is a technical / developer role as opposed to a design/creative role.

If you're interested in working with us or would like to know more, please email  and we can schedule an informal chat with you.
